Our campsite is the ideal base for whitewater sports in the Verdon. A briefing in the morning, a descent during the day, and returning to the campsite to enjoy the jacuzzi in the evening — that's the perfect itinerary.

The Verdon Gorge, a playground for white-water sports

The Verdon rises in the Alps and carves its way through the famous Gorges between Castellane and Moustiers-Sainte-Marie. For this 21 km stretch, the river tumbles down technical rapids between cliffs that can reach 700 metres in height. This is where all the whitewater activities are concentrated.

The Verdon's flow varies greatly depending on the season. In May-June, snowmelt swells the river and creates spectacular rapids (class IV-V). In July-August, the flow decreases, making rafting accessible to beginners (class II-III). Providers constantly adapt to water levels.

  • Length of the rafting course: 8 to 21 km depending on the route
  • Fast class: II to V according to the season
  • Season April to September
  • Minimum age: 6 years generally (depending on provider and water levels)
  • Duration: 2 hours to a full day
